Short Bio

Denise is a writer, photographer, artist, herbalist, and plant conservationist living in rural Wisconsin.

Statement

As an herbalist, plant conservationist, and permaculture grower, plants and nature are what I am immersed in day to day. All of my art is from my experiences with nature on my own land, and reflects a deeply personal Wisconsin experience of living close to nature and observing the life all around me. I like to paint nature realistically with hyper focus on life up close, and I enjoy the juxtaposition of nature with humans and emotions. I also enjoy realism combined with rich texture and motion.
